Early Simple Machines

Gain experience using the LEGO^® DUPLO^® building system while exploring principles in gears, levers, wheels and axles, and pulleys. Crown gears, worm gears, and spur gears will be whirling in our heads as we create activities to really get students engaged and understanding physical science concepts. We will look at extensions for the classroom and beyond. You will experience both student and teacher perspectives and see the connections to common core standards. Additionally, participants will spend time working with the facilitator as they create activities that integrate DUPLO Early Simple Machines into their daily or weekly lesson plans.
