The LEGO® Bricks in Space Program

An exciting new LEGO® space mission has begun, and you are invited to join the adventure!

Throughout this year, more than a dozen LEGO-based activities will be conducted on board the International Space Station (ISS) and your classroom is invited to follow along.

By participating in the LEGO Bricks in Space program, students will:

  • Explore life in space by receiving an insider’s look into the ISS
  • Utilize the scientific method to investigate the effect of microgravity on simple
  • machines
  • Compare their results on Earth to those found on board the ISS
  • Examine scientific topics such as force, friction, simple machines, and gravity
  • Investigate math concepts like distance, area, measurement, and accuracy

Phase One Activities

The sets used in these activities include the LEGO Education Space and Airport Set and Simple and Motorized Mechanisms Set.

New activities use the LEGO Education WeDo Robotics solution on-board the ISS.

The next phase of activities which will explore additional LEGO MINDSTORMS® Education Robotics in microgravity is expected to be available in early 2013.
